In 2019, Karumah celebrated our 30th anniversary by bringing together thirty stories love, loss and survival from community members and staff – both past and present – in Karumah: 30 Years Of Caring.
The book aims to share the reality and humanity beyond HIV stigma and show how diverse the experiences of People Living with HIV truly are.
The project not only preserves the history of Newcastle’s response to the virus but also celebrates the uniqueness and resilience of the Karumah community.
